This game is from the makers of the legendary game FarCry using the brand new gaming engine; CryEngine2 created by the team at CryTek. The game can be purchased at any retail store or online at www.EA.com. In campaign you are a player called nomad who is wearing a special nano suit that gives you superhuman abilities at the touch of a button. You can use strength mode to throw a barrel hundreds of feet or break down a wall, Cloak to slowly sneak up on your enemies, Speed to sprint across a field far faster than any car, or armor to help you sustain multiple bullet hits in a firefight. Nomad, along with his commander; prophet, and several others are on a top secret mission to recover an American scientist who has gone missing while on an archeological dig somewhere in southeast Asia. But when they get there they encounter something they never thought they would and now have to fight to defend themselves and get out alive. All the while the encamped North Koreans try to make a mess of things and hold you back. Crysis has a unique multiplayer experience. There are currently two types of gameply Power Struggle and Instant Action. With a Third, Team Instant action in the works. Power Struggle
It involves two teams; a US team and a North Korean team. The objective of the game is for one team to destroy the enemies base by using a nuclear weapon in the form to a TAC Tank or TAC Gun. You get these weapons by taking control of energy sites and a bulding known as the prototype facility. After taking them and holding it you must wait till you reach 100% energy. But along the way you can gain the use of alien weapons like the freeze ray and the ice bullet gun. Once you reach 100% you must make your way across the incredibly huge multiplayer maps with a giant target over your head. You must deal with the other team who may be using hellicopters, VTOL's (Cross between a plane and a helicopter), rocket launchers, land mines, plastic explosive packs, and 5 different types of tanks. You must then shoot the nuke at the enemy base and destroy the radio towers while trying to avoid the automated defense system and the foot personnel. Every time you make a kill or destroy an enemy vehicle you gain Prestige Points and Experience in a rank. The more prestige and the higher rank you are the more weapons, vehicles, and weapon add-ons you can buy. Instant Action
Instant Action is like any other slayer, death mach, or free for all you come across. You are a one man show on a set of smaller maps where weapons are left laying around the map. You use them and your suit functions to kill the other players until the alloted time is up. Graphics
Crysis that the most advanced game graphic wise that the ု Clan currently has an extension for. Unfortunately that means that it is the most demanding. It Supports both Direct X 9 and the new Vista only Direct X 10. Each version of Direct X has benefits and problems. Few cards support Direct X 10 but the graphics are ultra realistic. It also takes a huge amount of video rendering power compared to Direct X 9. Fortunatly the game engine is extremely configurable that people with video cards even lower than the minimum requirements may be able to play the game. Here are some comparison shots: Direct X 9
